Dear Mr. Sirb,
Thank you very much for your clarification and your support. It is deeply appreciated although I don’t understand why we are exchanging messages via Fightnews rather than just talking on the phone or exchanging e-mails. I hope on your understanding that this will be my last public response to your comments because I think it’s ridiculous that we share our conversation with the boxing world. I will be more than happy to discuss with you directly all pending issues and open questions and I hope that the same counts for you.
When I read your statement I was wondering why you hadn’t tried to reach out to me when you obviously knew about the letter I received from Florida and you were also aware of medical issues which I didn’t know about. You find my contact details on the official BDB website (www.boxen-bdb.de) and I am always thankful for any remarks made in respect to BDB events or fighters competing on BDB shows. Obviously, we misinterpreted the letter from Florida as approval and confirmation. I apologize for this misunderstanding and misinterpretation. But I was convinced that a fighter suspended by a boxing of athletic commission in any US state will automatically be suspended in any State as per the ABC.
Regarding fight fax I just want to correct you that it is not “recognized around the world as the authority on boxing records”. In Europe barely anybody uses or even knows about fight fax. Promoters, matchmakers, agents, fans and the media work with boxrec and refer to boxrec because it is so easy to access.
As far as I am informed fight fax is a privately owned and run system just like boxrec – with the main difference being that the owner and head of fight fax also functions as official for the IBF which in my point of view might be a collision of interest…
Anyways, I thank you for your clarification and your help in this matter and I hope that we will be in touch regularly – maybe directly via e-mail or phone instead of through Fightnews. Please don’t hesitate to contact and inform me immediately whenever you hear that a boxer with medical issues is about to fight in Germany.
