Q&A: Bobby Gunn!

By Dave Baggs/Fightnews Canada

Bobby Gunn is a humble man. He knows right now that lady luck has finally come knocking. Unable to secure that big fight following his unsuccessful bid to win the WBO Cruiserweight title, Gunn (21-3-1, 18 KOs) never lost both hope or faith. With the plan of just keeping active and winning, the Canadian born contender now finds himself back in the ring with the world title on the line. He finds himself fighting in front of his adopted hometown fans of New Jersey and not overseas in hostile territory. He finds himself an underdog against an accomplished champion but the well spoken pugilist doesn’t care. He believes in both his will and god’s plan. On July 11th, Gunn and Tomasz Adamek will battle for the IBF Cruiserweight title at the Prudential Centre in what should be a very entertaining battle. Gunn took a few moments from his busy training schedule to talk to Fightnews Canada and answer a few questions about the biggest fight of his career. (More)

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
