On May 30th, IBF light welterweight champion Juan Urango (21-1, 16 KOs) will move to 147 lbs to challenge WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (24-0, 19 KOs) at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The “Iron Twin” took time out from his fight preparations to give an exclusive interview to

Hello, Juan! You just won the IBF light welterweight title and now you’re fighting at welterweight. Why?

Hello Alex and, the best regards! Because I get the opportunity to get back on HBO and after I win the welterweight title, I can decide what weight to fight at.

Why did you choose Andre Berto instead of the other champions Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley and Joshua Clottey.

I did not choose, I was chosen.

Your only loss was to Ricky Hatton. You want rematch with him?

Of course, I am better and more experienced now.

What can you tell us about your opponent Andre Berto?

He is fast and strong, but I am stronger.

You wish to win by knockout or it don’t matter?

A win is a win

How have your preparations been for the fight?

I am very prepared and I am working hard.

The fight will take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Can you count on the support of the fans?

The fans always support me there.

After your fight with Andre Berto, what are your plans?

I’ll see what our team decides.

Your prediction for Ricky Hatton-Manny Pacquiao?

Both great fighters. Should be a great fight.
