Your comments about Mauricio Sulaiman?
I am privileged to know the capacity of work, human intelligence and sensitivity of Mauricio. I am one of the few who can at least understand a little his thoughts and feelings.
The boxing world knows you both have much in common…
Mauricio and I grew up with the passion of boxing in our blood. From an early age we have lived among the biggest figures, with great champions and legends, with boxers hopeful to make it to the top and others who could not and also those who were stars and then lost everything, and we met the great promoters at different times.
Are you two fortunate to be children of great leaders in boxing?
We were blessed to have been accompanied by the greatest idols of our lives. Our parents. In the midst of obstacles and sometimes difficult situations we could see closely the management of organizations, and we know the spirit of the rules, the reasons for the changes and every one of the ideas that maintain current sport.
And the critics who think it’s some kind of legacy?
Adjectives like princes, heirs, corruption or nepotism are bound to be used against us. We aren’t able to choose our parents. It’s a divine reason and God knows the answer.
Do you identify fully with Mauricio?
No doubt his dedication, professionalism and discipline that will carry the WBC in his administration as president of the champions with the green and gold belt. Mauricio has my support and confidence.
