Radisson Rumble returns tonight: Former women’s champion “Merciless” Mary McGee in action

Giovanni Gotti’s Knock Out Sports Promotions returns tonight (Friday) to the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville, Indiana with another installment of the crowd pleasing “Radisson Rumble” series. The main event features former WBC/NABC super lightweight world champion and current #4 lightweight fighter in the world “Merciless” Mary McGee (20-3, 11 KOs). McGee looks to get back to form following a decision loss (back in October) to the #1 ranked Erica Anabella Farias in Santa Fe, Argentina for the WBC female lightweight title.

“Mary has the heart of a champion and the skills to back it up and is one of the top fighters in the world,” said Giovanni Gotti.

Also featured is Angel “The Upset” Hernandez (15-12- 1, 12 KOs) who dropped a hard fought 10-round unanimous decision to Purnell Gates for the vacant USBO jr middleweight title back in October.

“Angel Hernandez gives the crowd a show each and every time he steps into the ring,” Gotti stated.

Also in action are light middleweight Benito Tovar (1-0-1, 1) and fellow lightweight David “D-Day” Diaz (3-0-1, 2).

The undercard features Gary’s own unbeaten lightweight “Dangerous” Don Moore (16-0-1, 10), who fights out of the Mayweather gym in Las Vegas.

In a special heavyweight division brawl, Chicago heavyweight Raphael Murphy (7-0, 7) plans on staying perfect, while amateur standout and welterweight Alex Martin (3-0, 3) looks to do the same in his bout.

The Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza is located at I 65 & U.S. HWY 30 in Merrillville, IN. The doors open at the Star Plaza Theater at 7p and the first bout starts at 8p. Tickets are still available at the box office or call 219-406-6871 or 708-484-5211.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
