Ramsey: Ngoudjo a monster

By Dave Spencer / Fightnews Canada

Fightnews caught up with Hermann Ngoudjo’s (18-3-0, 10KO), trainer Marc Ramsay by telephone, shortly after his fighter stepped off the scale at an even 140, same as opponent, former world champion Julio Diaz (36-6-0, 26KO). The pair will face off tonight in Primm Nevada in a fight that will air on ESPN Friday Night Fights and be broadcast live in Canada. “We had a very good training camp and I’m expecting a very good performance,” said Ramsay who is now in his second fight as chief second to the two-time world title challenger. “Physically he was a monster in training camp. I’m not only expecting a win, I’m expecting a great win and good performance for everybody watching to show that he is back and prove that he belongs at the top of the division.”

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
