The popular one-day Prizefighter tournament returns on December 4 at the National Hall, Olympia in London with the first ever light-welterweight competition. Ex WBA world champion Gavin Rees (28-1, 14 KOs) is among the eight, as are Ted Bami (26-5, 13 KOs), Jason Cook (25-2, 12 KOs) and Colin Lynes (31-6, 12 KOs), who have all held European belts. Former British title holders David Barnes (24-1-1, 11 KOs), Barry Morrison (17-4, 7 KOs) and Young Mutley (26-3, 13 KOs) will also be vying for the £32,000 winner’s prize, while Southern Area Champion Lee Purdy (12-1-1, 6 KOs) completes the line-up. October’s Prizefighter Heavyweights III, which was won by Audley Harrison, recorded the highest rating for any Sky Sports boxing show in recent times and this competition will again be screened on Sky Sports.
