Ana “Hurricane” Julaton fought off the aggressive challenge of veteran Kelsey Jefferies on Saturday at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA to claim the vacant International Boxing Association female super bantamweight title in her sixth pro fight. Scores were 96-94, 95-95 and 98-92. Julaton (5-1-1, 1 KO), a resident of nearby Daly City, fought in front of a raucous crowd of supporters. During the ten-round contest, Julaton tried with some success to keep Jefferies at bay with a jab and did enough when Jefferies got inside to win the nod from the judges . . . Click here for more
