Lightweight Ray Beltran (26-6, 17 KOs), best known as Manny Pacquiao’s sparring partner, surprisingly upset WBC #1 rated “Hammerin'” Hank Lundy (22-2-1, 11 KOs) taking a majority decision on Friday night at The Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. Beltran came on hard in round three and battered Lundy. Both fighters landed big shots and were rocked at the bell. The rest of the bout was close with Beltran prevailing by scores of 96-94, 96-94, 95-95. With the win, Beltran claimed the NABF lightweight belt.

Super Middleweight Farah “Quiet Storm” Ennis (20-1, 12 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over Richard “T.P.” Pierson (11-3, 8 KOs). Ennis outworked Pierson in most rounds to win comfortably. Scores were 99-91, 98-92, 98-92.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
