Lightweight Ray Beltran (26-6, 17 KOs), best known as Manny Pacquiao’s sparring partner, surprisingly upset WBC #1 rated “Hammerin’” Hank Lundy (22-2-1, 11 KOs) taking a majority decision on Friday night at The Resorts Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. Beltran came on hard in round three and battered Lundy. Both fighters landed big shots and were rocked at the bell. The rest of the bout was close with Beltran prevailing by scores of 96-94, 96-94, 95-95. With the win, Beltran claimed the NABF lightweight belt.
Super Middleweight Farah “Quiet Storm” Ennis (20-1, 12 KOs) pounded out a ten round unanimous decision over Richard “T.P.” Pierson (11-3, 8 KOs). Ennis outworked Pierson in most rounds to win comfortably. Scores were 99-91, 98-92, 98-92.
