In a rematch, middleweight Patrick “The Machine” Majewski (20-1, 13 KOs) scored a hard fought ten round majority decision over Latif Mundy (10-5, 4 KOs) on Saturday night at Resorts Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. Majewski overcame a cut over his left eye suffered in round three to outwork Mundy and take a 98-92, 100-90, 95-95 verdict. Majewski previously beat Mundy by unanimous decision in 2009.
In a local jr. middleweight turf war, Decarlo Perez (8-2-1, 3 KOs) scored an upset third round stoppage of formerly world rated Shamone Alvarez (21-6, 12 KOs). Alvarez tried to bum rush Perez, but the 21-year-old weathered the storm and turned the tables on the former NABO titleholder, getting the referee’s stoppage at the 2:01 mark.
