Super-lightweight Dierry Jean (22-0 14KO) dominated from beginning to end in winning a unanimous decision over Lanardo Tyner (25-8-2 15KO) and capturing the vacant NABF belt in Montreal Saturday night. Scorecards read 119-109 across the board. Jean was simply too fast for Tyner who took the fight on short notice and was unable to make the 140 pound limit.
Nicholson Poulard (18-3 8KO) captured the vacant NABA light heavyweight title with a split decision victory over the previously undefeated Lionell Thompson (12-1 8KO). A sustained body attack by Poulard never let the talented Thompson fully into the fight as the Buffalo fighter was constantly out-worked on the evening. Scores in the bout were 97-93, 96-94 For Poulard and 97-93 for Thompson.
