Romero, Morales victorious

Unbeaten world-ranked super bantamweight Jonathan Romero (22-0, 12 KOs) outboxed Efrain Esquivias Jr. (16-2, 9 KOs) over twelve rounds to claim a one-sided unanimous decision in a clash for the IBF #2 ranking on Saturday night at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California. Scores were 119-108, 119-108, 120-107.

In a battle between unbeaten super bantamweights, Roman Morales (13-0, 6 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Jonathan Arellano (13-1-1, 3 KOs). Morales was down in round three, but came back to drop Arellano in the sixth. Scores were 78-72, 78-72, 77-73. With the win, Morales claimed the WBC Latino Championship.
