In an important IBF super bantamweight eliminator, Alejandro Lopez (23-2, 7 KOs) won a ten twelve round unanimous decision over former world champion Takalani Ndlovu (33-8, 18 KOs) on Saturday night at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas. It was a rugged and sometimes dirty fight that Lopez closed strong to pull away with scores of 116-111, 116-111, 117-112. Lopez now becomes the IBF #1 ranked super bantamweight.
On the undercard, undefeated middleweight Abie Han (18-0, 12 KOs) destroyed Arsenio Terrazas (9-3, 8 KOs) in the first round, but older sister Jennifer Han (8-2-1, 1 KO) visited the canvas and lost a four round split decision to Claudia Gutierrez (2-2) in a female super featherweight clash.
Unbeaten jr middleweight Glen Tapia (16-0, 9 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over Dashon Johnson (13-8-3, 4 KOs) by scores of 79-73, 79-73, 78-74.
Unbeaten welterweight Brad Solomon (19-0, 7 KOs) had a scare against Yorgi Estrella (18-9-2, 7 KOs). Solomon was down twice in round one, but came back to win by majority decision. Scores were 77-73, 77-73, 75-75.
2008 Olympian middleweight Matt Korobov (18-0, 10 KOs) stayed unbeaten with a one-sided eight round unanimous decision over Milton Nunez (24-6-1, 22 KOs). Scores were 80-72 on all cards.
Unbeaten super bantamweight Tramaine Williams (4-0, 2 KOs) won a four round split decision against Raul Carrillo (1-7, 1 KO).
