Another impressive performance by welterweight prospect and hometown favorite Alan Sanchez (11-2-1, 5 KOs), who scored a tenth round TKO over Manuel Leyva (21-8, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Fairfield Sports Center in Fairfield, California. Sanchez punished the super game Leyva throughout the bout and referee Dan Stell finally waved it off at 1:46 of the final stanza.
Unbeaten jr featherweight Manuel “Tino” Avila (9-0, 3 KOs) registered a third round TKO over Vicente Alfaro (5-2, 1 KO). Avila scored a flash knockdown in round two, was credited with another knockdown in round three and got the stoppage later in round three when Alfaro’s corner threw in the towel. Time was 2:04.
