Chakhkiev stops Mendoza in ninth

Hot cruiserweight prospect Rakhim “The Machine” Chakhkiev (15-0, 12 KOs) continued his reign of terror with a ninth round KO of Epifanio Mendoza (34-15-1, 30 KOs) on Friday night at the Wandsbek Sporthalle in Hamburg, Germany. Southpaw Chakhkiev, a 2008 Olympic gold medalist, dropped Mendoza in round two and twice in round nine, the second time for the count.

Former female featherweight world champion Ina Menzer (30-1, 11 KOs) scored a second round TKO over Renata Domsodi (9-3, 4 KOs).

Unbeaten light heavyweight Ismail Oezen (6-0, 6 KOs) handed Michal Bilak (19-22, 10 KOs) his sixteenth straight loss, scoring a fourth round TKO to claim the German International belt.

Former WBC super featherweight champion Vitali Tajbert (23-2, 6 KOs) won a six round decision over previously unbeaten Michal Dufek (9-1-1, 6 KOs) in a lightweight bout. No scores announced.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
