Jr lightweight prospect Andrew “Chango” Cancio (14-1-2, 11 KOs) scored the biggest win of his career to date with a ten round unanimous decision over six-time former world title challenger and 2000 Olympic Silver Medalist Rocky Juarez (28-10-1, 20 KOs) on Saturday night at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. Cancio was credited with a questionable knockdown in round one, but Juarez came back to floor Cancio in round two. Cancio dropped Rocky again in the fifth round and was in command for the rest of the fight. Scores were 97-90, 97-90, 98-89. Now six straight losses for Juarez.
Unbeaten jr middleweight Hugo “The Boss” Centeno (14-0, 8 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over Rahman Yusubov (8-8, 6 KOs). Yusubov’s corner threw in the towel to save their man from further punishment. Time was 2:39.
