WBA light heavyweight champion Beibut Shumenov (13-1, 8 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision over former super middleweight world title challenger Enrique Ornelas (33-8, 21 KOs) on Saturday night inside “The Joint” at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Shumenov jumped all over Ornelas in big round one, then outboxed Enrique for the rest of the fight. Scores were 120-108 on all cards.
In a clash of welterweight prospects, Joseph Elegele (13-1, 10 KOs) won an eight round majority decision over Lanard Lane (13-2, 8 KOs). Scores were 77-74, 76-75, 76-76.
Undefeated WBA #15 welterweight Ravshan Hudaynazarov improved his record to 16-0, 12 KOs) defeating Euri Gonzalez (20-2-1, 14 KOs) by unanimous decision in an eight-round junior middleweight bout. All three ringside judges scored in Hudaynazarov’s favor with tallies of 79-73.
In off-TV bouts, California jr. lightweight Johnny Reyes (2-0, 1 KO) outboxed wild-swinging, relentless Uriel Torres (0-1), also of L.A., scoring a knockdown en route to a unanimous decision with scores of 40-35 twice and 39-36; and Florida jr. middleweight Daquan Arnett (4-0, 2 KOs) weathered rough-and-ready Yosmani Abreu (2-3-1) to win a unanimous decision with scores of 40-35 twice and 39-36.
