Featherweight Robinson Castellanos (14-9, 9 KOs) took a ten round unanimous decision over Orlando Rizo (14-3, 9 KOs) to retain his WBC silver for the third time on Saturday night at the Jose Cuervo Salon in the Polanco district of Mexico City. Judges scored it 117-111, 117-111 and 117-111, which accurately reflected what happened in the ring.
Also WBC female silver bantamweight beltholder Zulina Muñoz (33-1-2, 23 KOs) won by knockout in three rounds over former WIBA world champion Paulina Cardona (19-11-4, 9 KOs) to retain her title for the third time.
The event billed as “Silver Heores” was presented by Dr. Fausto Daniel Garcia’s Boxeo de Gala and attracted 4,000+ boxing fans. WBC President Jose Sulaiman was also in attendance.
