Ivan Morales, Guevara Bros triumph

Light flyweight Pedro “Jibran” Guevara (20-1-1, 13 KOs) defended his WBC silver belt by unanimous twelve round decision against former world champion Mario “Dragoncito” Rodriguez (15-8-4, 11 KOs) on Saturday night at the Domo de la Colosio in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Guevara was in command all the way in a 120-108, 118-110, 119-110 win.

Guevara’s brother, former world title challenger Alberto “Metro” Guevara (18-1, 6 KOs), was dropped in round ten but still came away with a ten round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Jonathan “Pitbull” Vidal (17-1, 9 KOs) in a bout for the vacant WBC International bantamweight title. Scores were 97-92, 97-92, 95-94.

Ivan “Nino Maravilla” Morales (21-0, 13 KOs), the younger brother of Mexican ring legend Erik Morales, retained his WBC International silver super flyweight belt against Alejandro “Terrible” Morales (13-1, 7 KOs) with a ten round unanimous decision. Scores were 98-92, 98-93, 97-93.

Unbeaten jr middleweight prospect Hugo “The Boss” Centeno (19-0, 10 KOs) needed just 46 seconds to annihilate Isaac Mendez (16-11, 14 KOs) in a scheduled eight-round matchup.
