In a clash for the vacant WBO junior featherweight championship, Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. (18-0-1, 15 KOs) scored an impressive fourth round KO over previously unbeaten former WBO super flyweight champion Marvin Sonsona (14-1-1, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Vazquez Jr., son of Puerto Rican ring great Wilfredo Vazquez, took over the fight in round two and battered the 19-year-old former 115lb champion who had moved up two divisions to the deck in the fourth. A Vazquez left hook to the liver ended it for Sonsona at the 2:01 mark. He did not beat the count of referee Luis Pabon.

In a bout for the WBO Latino junior featherweight belt, Jonathan Oquendo (18-2, 11KOs) won a unanimous twelve round decision over José Ángel Beranza. Scores were 118-108, 114-112 and 117-109.
The Arroyo Twins, recently signed by PR Best after highly successful amateur careers, both had successful pro debuts. Amateur flyweight world champion McWilliams Arroyo (1-0, 1 KO) laid out Eliecer Sanchez (0-1) with a huge straight right hand after just 1:46 of round one. Sanchez was down for several minutes. Bantamweight McJoe Arroyo (1-0, 1 KO) had no problems with Giovanni Rivera (0-3) scoring a second round KO. McJoe dropped Arroyo in round one and finished him in round two. Time was :25.
Unbeaten 6’6 Olympian cruiserweight Carlos Negron (8-0, 6 KOs) scored an explosive first round KO over Rudy Ashworth (5-8, 1 KO). Negron scored three knockdowns, the final one for the count. Time was 2:59.
