Heavyweight Víctor Bisbal (20-1, 14 KOs) scored a third round TKO over 43-year-old former world champion Robert Daniels (49-10-1, 41 KOs) on Friday night at the Coliseo Angel “Cholo” Espada in Salinas, Puerto Rico. Daniels was down one time in the third round. Time was 1:10. Daniels held the WBA cruiser belt from 1989-1991.
6’6 heavyweight Carlos Negrón (14-1, 10 KOs) rebounded from his KO loss to Epifanio Mendoza with a first round KO over Francisco Mireles (13-7, 3 KOs). Mireles was down twice, the second time for the count.
Jr. flyweight Israel Vazquez (5-0-2, 5 KOs), son of Puerto Rican ring legend Wilfredo Vazquez and brother of former WBO super bantamweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez, needed just 38 seconds to knock out Christian López (3-3-2, 3 KOs). Two jabs and a straight right ended it.
