In an IBF cruiserweight eliminator that resembled a sparring session, Alexander Alekseev (24-2-1, 20 KOs) won an uneventful twelve round unanimous decision over Garrett Wilson (13-6-1, 7 KOs) on Friday night at Strada Henri Coanda in Galati, Romania. Philly fighter Wilson was never in the fight against Alekseev, a former Olympian and amateur world champion, who prevailed 117-111, 118-111, 116-112.
After a spirited two rounds, former heavyweight title challenger Manuel Charr (23-1, 13 KOs) was victorious when Yakup Saglam (28-2, 25 KOs) quit after round two with a shoulder injury.
Local heavyweight Christian Hammer (13-3, 9 KOs) won when Oleksiy Mazikin (18-9-2, 4 KOs) when Mazikin quit after round six in a bout for Hammer’s WBO European heavyweight title.
