Former Olympic candidate Stan Martyniouk (11-1), coming off his only defeat, topped off a sweep by Sacramento area boxers by winning a fourth-round TKO over Dario Castillo (6-11-1) of Pittsburg, Calif. in the main event of Thursday night’s boxing card at the Woodlake Hotel. Castillo remained erect but a badly cut eye prevented him from answering the bell for the fifth.
In prelims, it was Max Becerra (6-0-1) over Danny Castillo (2-7-1), TKO-2, junior-welters; Mike Guy (4-0-1) over Ruben Mendosa (0-1), SD-4, super-middles; John Abella (1-0) over Johnny Mancilla (1-1-2), UD-4, super-bantams; and Rodney Hernandez (2-1) over Kourtney Boden (3-5), MD-4, heavyweights.
