Welterweight Fidel “The Atrisco Kid” Maldonado Jr (18-2, 15 KOs) scored a fourth round TKO over late sub John Nater (13-5, 10 KOs) on Monday night at the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas. Maldonado dropped Nater with a body shot in round three. Another body shot put Nater down in round four. The fight was stopped by Nater’s corner after round four. Maldonado was originally slated to face former world champion Steve Forbes, who was pulled from the bout due to a failed pre-fight medical exam.
Unbeaten 2012 U.S. Olympian welterweight Errol Spence Jr. (11-0, 9 KOs) continued to impress with a fourth round KO over Peter Olouch (12-7-2, 6 KOs). Spence scored a knockdown in round four and then dropped Olouch again in the same round to end it. Time was 1:39.
2012 U.S. Olympian middleweight Terrell Gausha (13-2, 6 KOs) pounded on George Sosa (13-5, 13 KOs) for eight rounds, taking a lopsided 80-72, 80-72, 79-73 unanimous decision.
