Flores stops Pineda; Spinks tops Powell

WBO #3 cruiserweight BJ Flores (27-1-1, 16 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over comebacking 40-year-old former welterweight title challenger Hugo Pineda (39-6-1, 28 KOs) on Saturday night at the Shrine Mosque in Springfield, Missouri. Flores dominated the fight, dropping Pineda in round two and getting a stoppage in round six. Referee Mike Englund waved it off at 2:34.

Former two-division world champion Cory Spinks (38-6, 11 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Sechew Powell (26-4, 15 KOs) in an important IBF jr. middleweight eliminator. Spinks controlled most the rounds with his jab to win by scores of 115-113, 115-113, 116-112.
