In a brutal super flyweight clash, former world champion Giovani Segura (32-3-1, 28KOs) a tenth round KO over two-time world title challenger Felipe Salguero (19-6-1, 14 KOs) on Saturday night at the Arena Tecate in Tijuana, BCN, Mexico. Segura dropped Salguero in round four, but the game Salguero gave him all he could handle. The end came in round ten when Salguero couldn’t go anymore and just collapsed.
Former world champion Juan Alberto “Topo” Rosas (39-8, 27 KOs) scored a ninth round technical decision over previously unbeaten Alejandro “Cobrita” González Jr. (22-1-2, 14 KOs) in a bantamweight clash. The aggressive Rosas took the fight to the less experienced Gonzalez throughout the bout, which ended with a ninth round head clash that left blood gushing out of a cut on Rosas’ forehead. Scores were 78-74, 77-75 and 80-72 for Rosas.
In an upset, super featherweight Francisco Gabriel Pina (12-6-4, 5 KOs) won a six round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Filipino Rogelio Jun Doliguez (18-1, 14 KOs). Pina dropped Doliguez in round one and went on to win 57-56, 59-55, 59-55.
