Garcia keeps WBO interim belt

WBO interim mini-flyweight champion Ramón “Príncipe” García (14-1-1, 8 KOs) barely held onto his belt with a twelve round majority decision over former world champion Manuel “Chango” Vargas (28-6-1, 13 KOs) on Saturday night at El Foro in Tijuana, Mexico. Scores were 115-113, 115-113 for Garcia, and 114-114. Vargas was initially announced as the winner, but Garcia was then announced as the winner moments later.

Former WBC super featherweight champion Humberto “Betillo” Gutiérrez (28-2-1, 20 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over René “Chirizo” González (27-3-1, 21 KOs). Scores were 98-92, 98-92, 99-91.
