Promoter BIG TIME FIGHTS LLC brought professional boxing to the Pepsi Pavillion’s McElroy Auditorium, Waterloo Iowa.
After several problems with weights and making matches, the show went on with four professional bouts.
In the main event Enver Halili, Bronx New York raised his record to 4-0 (1 KO) as he won a six round unanimous decision over Davenport Iowa’s Leonard Overstreet who’s record falls to (1-5, 1KO).
Eric Goodell a Iowa lightweight making his professional debut, won a four round majority decision over James Owens from Milwaukee Wisconsin. Owens is now (4-12 2 KOs).
John Franklin who fights out of Kansas City Missouri, won by TKO in just 22 seconds of the first stanza as referee Pete Henkels called a halt to rescue debuting Iowa boxer Frank Horvath, super bantamweights.
Pembrooke Massachusetts’ cruiserweight Vinnie Carita gave up a several pounds but he still managed to flatten Iowa heavyweight Brian Long. Referee Jim Barr reached the count of ten with Carita winning by knockout in just 20 seconds of the first round.
