Unbeaten junior lightweight star Carney “Beeper” Bowman (15-0, 7 KOs) scored a foul-filled third round knockout over Robert Acevedo (9-11-3, 1 KO) on Saturday night in his hometown of York, Pennsylvania at the Sovereign Bank Baseball Stadium. It was a dirty fight with a lot of wrestling. Acevedo was deducted point for holding in round one, but it didn’t matter as Bowman dropped him for the count with two big right hands :47 seconds into round three. Feelings were still running hot after the bout as things got ugly and the fighters had to be separated by their handlers.
Cruiserweight contender Andres “Taylor Made” Taylor (16-1-1, 7 KOs) scored a second round TKO over Adam Harris (10-3, 7 KOs). Taylor dropped Harris with a right to the body in round two, and after Harris returned to his corner, he complained that his right shoulder had popped out and the bout was stopped. Time was 3:00.
