“Return to the Rings” returns!

Promoter Leslie Bonano and the Hollywood Casino in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi will host the second installment of the “Return of the Rings” series this Saturday. The “Return of the Rings” features top local talent plus brings back some local favorites to the ring. In the main event, Jarred “The Lethal Weapon” LeBlanc from Breaux Bridge, LA, will fight Darien “The Holy Angel” Ford out of New Orleans, LA in a jr middleweight six-rounder. Ford is the most experienced fighter that prospect Leblanc (10-0, 7 KOs) has faced in his two-year career. Ford (11-17, 4 KOs) holds victories over former world champion Charles “The Natural” Murray and former NABF champion Ivan Robinson plus he went the distance with former world champion Freddie Norwood. “Don’t let his record fool you,” said Bonano. “Ford will push Leblanc to the limit and find out if he is the real deal or not!” In the heavyweight division, Bobby O’Bannon (6-2, 6 KOs) from Mobile, AL faces off with Joseph Rabotte (7-5, 2 KOs) of Myrtle Beach, SC in a six-round contest. For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
