Two world champions will see action on Saturday at the Municipal Auditorium in the border town of Tijuana, Mexico. The event, billed as “Total Revolution in Tijuana” is the first in a strong run of shows by Zanfer Promotions as 2010 comes to a close.
In featured bouts, unified WBA/WBO light flyweight champion Giovani Segura (25-1-1, 21 KOs) will face former champion Manuel “Chango” Vargas Vargas (28-6-1, 13 KOs) in a ten round flyweight clash, and IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vázquez (26-3, 12 KOs) defends against Ricardo “Pelón” Domínguez (32-6-2, 20 KOs).
The undercard features super lightweight KO artist Daniel “Galen” Sandoval (18-1, 18 KOs) against Armando Robles (14-1-1, 11 KOs), super flyweight prospect David “Flecha” Gaspar (15-2-1, 9 KOs) against Jose Carlos Vargas (22-5, 13 KOs), unbeaten featherweight Raul Hirales (11-0, 7 KOs) against Adam Ozuna (8-4-3, 3 KOs), and Adrian “Chinito” Young (10-0, 8 KOs) against an opponent to be named.
The company headed by promoter Fernando Beltran, will be back one week later on December 4, when Zanfer fighters Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Humberto “Zorrita” Soto fight on Top Rank’s “In Harm’s Way” pay-per-view card in Anaheim.
On December 11 in Torreon, Mexico, IBF super flyweight champion Alberto “Topo” Rosas defends against former champ Cristian Mijares and WBC bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel faces Eduardo Garcia, plus featherweight Joksan Hernandez meets Jorge Lacierva and “Tyson” Marquez goes against an opponent to be named.
Finally on December 18, Zanfer closes the year with Jorge “Travieso” Arce, Jackie Nava, Omar Chavez in separate bouts.
