Remaining undefeated and adding the WBC World Youth jr. middleweight belt to his collection, Chihuahuan Marco “Dorado” Reyes (14-0, 12 KOs) pounded out a 12-round unanimous decision over Colombian Beibi Berrocal (6-2, 6 KOs), last night at the Gimnasio Rodrigo Queveda in Chihuahua, Mexico. In the co-main of the Promociones del Pueblo card, bouncing back from a kayo loss in May, former world champ Jhonny Gonzalez (41-7, 34 KOs), of Mexico City, needed less than one round to dispose of Jose “Pegono” Mendoza (21-4-2, 17 KOs), of Columbia. A shot to the liver took Mendoza out.
In a ten-rounder, Chihuahua superflyweight Victor Zaleta (10-1, 5 KOs) went the distance with Gilberto Keb Baas (28-20-3, 16 Kos), winning a ten-round unanimous decision.
In another ten rounder, at super lightweight, Javier “Zorro” Castro (21-2, 18 KOs) took out late sub Heriberto Gutierrez (4-2) in less than a round.
Other results:
Chihuahuan flyweight Odilon Zaleta, brother to Victor, made a successful pro debut by winning a six-round unanimous decision over 48-fight veteran Alejandro “Apachito” Moreno (21-25-3, 10 KOs).
In a six-rounder at featherweight, Juarez’s Miguel “Mickey” Roman (26-5, 18 KOs) kayoed Servando Solis (0-18) in round one.
Cruiserweight Carlos Duarte (9-1, 7 KOs) won by TKO in round five over Jesus Gutierrez (0-1).
