Former world champion Ricky Hatton has announced a Friday press conference in Manchester, England, where he will make an undisclosed “major announcement.” According to Sky Sports, Hatton has recently shed 40 pounds and it’s expected that he’ll to announce his return to the ring. It’s also reported that Hatton is in the process of re-applying for a boxing license with the British Boxing Board of Control and he seems to be targeting reigning WBA welterweight champion Paul Malignaggi, whom he has previously beaten. The Hitman’s last fight was in May 2009 when he was destroyed by Manny Pacquiao. He is still only 33 years of age.
