Undefeated former world champion Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios (30-0-1, 21 KOs) and #1 rated “Mile High” Mike Alvarado (33-0, 23 KOs) hosted an international media conference call Thursday to discuss their highly anticipated October 13 junior welterweight battle at Home Depot Center in Los Angeles.
Mike Alvarado: I’m excited. I know it’s going to be a very entertaining fight of the people. It’s going to be a very good fight for me and Brandon. I’m ready to do whet we planned to do and that’s fight to the finish, fight to the end, fight until victory. I know it’s going to be a great, thrilling non-stop action fight and I’m ready for it. Can’t wait.
Brandon Rios: It’s going to be a bloody, massacre fight. It’s going to be one of those fights when people are on their feet the whole time….I’m still waiting for my Gatti and Ward fight. I’ve been telling Robert [trainer Robert Garcia] since I started as a professional I’ve been waiting for that type of fight and hopefully this is that fight.
I’m going out there to make a statement. I’m going for the knockout. I’m making a statement big time.
