Sky Arena’s UK representative Mark Dunlop has engaged the services of British & Irish Heavyweights Martin Rogan and Michael Sprott for the world’s biggest ever “Super 8 Heavyweight Boxing Tournament,” to be held on June 4 in Auckland, New Zealand. Super 8 will consist of heavyweights competing for a prize pool of £250,000 on one evening. The format will be similar to the UK “Prizefigher” except the prize money on offer with over £100,000 to the winner (compared to £32,000 for the Prizefighter winner) and £50,000 to the runner up. In total there is over £250,000 up for grabs on the night to include a guaranteed £7,500 to all contestants for their first fights and also includes KO win bonuses. Rogan and Sprott, both who have won the UK version, join Kiwi hope and former world heavyweight challenger Kali Meehan as the first three names into the draw.
