Former WBC Featherweight Champion Elio Rojas says he has split with his promoter Don King. “Don King did help me get to the title,” admits the Dominican-born Rojas, “but then he abandoned me when I most needed him. During my illness he did nothing to help me stay as champion and he actually seemed to switch sides when I had to fight to reclaim my title.” Rojas (23-2, 14 KOs) won the WBC featherweight title in 2009 and defended it twice before being sidelined for over a year. He tried unsuccessfully to regain his belt in April of this year, losing a decision to Jhonny Gonzales.
