Ron Lyle passes away at 70

Exciting former heavyweight contender Ron Lyle has unfortunately passed away at the age of 70 in Denver, Colorado, after complications from a sudden stomach ailment.

Lyle fought Muhammad Ali for the heavyweight title in 1975 and his knockdown filled brawl with George Foreman the following year is considered to be one of the greatest bouts in boxing history. Possibly the hardest-punching fighter of his era, Lyle had a career mark of 43-7-1, with 31 KOs. Fightnews sends our deepest sympathies to Ron Lyle’s family and friends.
