Rubio awaits Chavez-Zbik winner

Mandatory middleweight title challenger Marco Antonio “Veneno” Rubio (50-5-1, 43 KOs) is rooting for his countryman Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to become the new WBC champion on Saturday against Sebastian Zbik in Los Angeles. Rubio will not attend the fight, remaining at the Jordan Nueo Gym in Mexico City training for for his fight the same night against Ricardo Marcelo Ramallo (11-3-1, 7 KOs). Rubio, who knocked out previously unbeaten David Lemieux in seven rounds last April 8 in Quebec, stated that if Chavez Jr. wins, he wants to face him in the new stadium in Torreon, Coahuila, But first he needs to get past Ramallo on Saturday at the Forum Polanco in Mexico City.
