By Gabriel F. Cordero

WBC mandatory middleweight title challenger Marco Antonio “Veneno” Rubio (58-6-1, 50 KOs) scored a second round KO over Dionisio “Mister Nocaut” Miranda (22-9-2, 19 KOs) on Saturday night at the Palenque de la Feria in Chihuahua, Mexico. Rubio dropped Miranda once in round one and twice in round two, the second time for the count. Time was 2:44. Next for Rubio is a rematch with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, provided Junior gets past Brian Vera on September 7.

WBC female silver light flyweight beltholder Yessica “Kika” Chavez (19-3-2, 4 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Tsunami Tenkai (18-7, 7 KOs).

Olympian Oscar Molina moved to 6-0, 5 KOs with a second round KO over Ruben Juarez “Duke” Lopez.

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
