Rubio files official protest

Mexican boxer Marco Antonio “Veneno” Rubio has filed a formal protest to the WBC citing numerous violations of WBC rules in the period before, during and after his February 4 title fight against WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Among the issues are the lack of drug testing, Chavez’ massive weight fluctuations and “various breaches that occurred at ringside during the fight.” Rubio wants the result of the fight changed to no-decision and a rematch ordered.
