Promociones del Pueblo, representing middleweight title challenger Marco Antonio Rubio has sent a letter to the World Boxing Council requested reconsideration of Mexican referee Guadalupe Garcia in Rubio’s fight against WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on February 4th in San Antonio, Texas. WBC rules call for geographic neutrality and although Garcia is a first rate referee, Chavez Jr. is the son of Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez, a man loved by the Mexican boxing fans and the world. Promociones del Pueblo requesting that the WBC, in pursuit of transparency, impartiality and sportsmanship, change from a Mexican referee to an international referee for Chavez Jr-Rubio.
