Super bantamweight Jesus “Estrella” Ruiz (22-2-2, 18 KOs) pounded out a twelve round unanimous decision over comebacking former contender Cuauhtemoc Vargas (16-3-1, 11 KOs) on Friday night at the Auditorio Plaza Condesa in Mexico City. Ruiz retained his WBC Latin belt with the win. It was Vargas’ first fight since January 2007.
