Mexican IBF super featherweight world champion Juan Carlos Salgado (26-1-1, 16 KOs) retains his crown by unanimous decision against Argentinian WBA former champ Jonathan Barros (34-3-1, 18 KOs) at the Miguel Hidalgo Gym in Puebla, Mexico. All three judges scored it 116-111 for Salgado who successfully defended his title for the third time.
In other action, Nicaraguan René González (31-5, 23 KOs) won by split decision over Mexican Ricardo Alvarez (18-2, 12 KOs) to retain his WBA Fedelatin lighweight title over 11 rounds. The judges scored it 106-105 and 107-104 for Gonzalez and 109-105 for Alvarez.
Mexican lightweight prospect Alejandro “Flakita” Sanabria (33-1, 25 KOs) scored an eight round TKO over Japan’s Seiichi Okada (16-3, 9 KOs).
