Former world title challenger and New York-based Dmitriy Salita (30-1-1, 16 KOs) will meet Dominican Franklin Gonzalez (13-5, 9 KOs) September 1st at the Oceana Hall in Brooklyn, New York. Salita will test out the welterweight waters as the bout will be fought at a contracted weight of 147 pounds maximum. The bout will also mark the reunion of Salita and trainer Nirmal Lorick. Lorick is best known for training former world champions Luis Collazo and Travis Simms. Lorick worked with Salita back in his amateur days and in the earlier part of Salita’s professional career. Salita is training out of the Universal Boxing Club in Ozone Park in Queens, New York. The bout will be broadcast exclusively on The Jewish Channel.
