Junior welterweight stalwart Dmitriy Salita could finally be closing in on a title shot. According to Salita, the World Boxing Association has passed a resolution stating that their champion, Amir Khan has to come to an agreement to fight the number-one rated Salita within 14 days. The working date for the fight is Saturday, December 5 with the fight likely taking place in the United Kingdom. Salita (30-0-1, 16 KO’s) is coming off a win last May over Raul Munoz. Khan (21-1, 15 KO’s) won the title from Andreas Kotelnik on July 18. The winner of the proposed Khan-Salita fight would then have to defend within 90 days against interim champ Marcos Maidana.
