In an off-TV fight, former WBC world heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (32-3, 25 KOs) scored a second round stoppage over Ron “Rocky” Bellamy (14-10-4, 9 KOs) in Cancun, Mexico. Peter scored a knockdown late in the first round with a left hook and had Bellamy hurt in the second round with a right hand. Peter had him pinned in the blue corner when the referee stepped in and stopped the fight at 1:01 of the second stanza.
