Sampson Boxing inks Torres

Colombian middleweight power puncher Jose Miguel “Mochuelito” Torres (26-5, 23 KOs) has signed an exclusive multiyear promotional agreement with Sampson Boxing. 33-year-old Torres is probably best known for his NABO and NABF title-winning KO 6 over previously undefeated Patrick Majewski last November. Torres’ brother, Ricardo, is a former junior welterweight world champion. Having rattled off another three knockouts since the huge victory Majewski, Torres is now rated #16 by the WBC and #8 by the IBF at 160 lbs. “I am very excited to work with Mochuelito and his Team. I will announce his next fight shortly,” said promoter Sampson Lewkowicz.

    Help Support Fightnews.com®

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
