In a surprise, hometown favorite Juan Carlos “Zurdito” Sanchez (14-2-1, 7 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision to dethrone Rodrigo “Gatito” Guerrero (17-4, 10 KOs) and snatch the IBF super flyweight world title at the Union Arena in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico. Scores were 116-112, 119-109 and 115-113 for the 2011 Campeon Azteca tournament.

Guerrero said he thought he did enough to win and wants a rematch.
