Hard Hitting Promotions held a professional boxing card last Saturday at the Mela Room in Orlando, Florida. The eight round main event featured cruiserweights from the television show “The Contender.” Danny Santiago (32-6-1, 19 KOs) overpowered Miguel Hernandez (20-12, 10 KOs) throughout the rounds and was very aggressive working the ring to his advantage. In the end Santiago won by unanimous decision with all three judges scoring it 80-72.

At the end of the bout, Santiago called his girlfriend into the ring and proposed to her in front of the packed house. And her answer? “Yes!”

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
