Santiago wins WBC USNBC belt

Local bantamweight Alexis Santiago (15-3-1, 7 KOs) dropped Alex Rangel (15-2-2, 9 KOs) three times en route to a ninth round TKO on Saturday night at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Arizona. The win earned Santiago the vacant WBC USNBC bantamweight title.

In other action, SMS Promotions jr welterweightt Luis Olivares moved to 5-0 with 4 KOs after a first round stoppage of Alex Gutierrez.
